History match is mandatory to get relevant forecast.
According to our experience, most of existing history matched models is quite disputable. Indeed, these models are either obsolete, incorrect or should be significantly modified / updated.
There is therefore a large potential for improvements.
Although Assisted History Matching (AHM) techniques offer significant advantages to reservoir engineers (more accuracy, speed up…), the existing techniques are still improvable in terms of:
- G&G integration: 3D seismic, production and 4D seismic data
- Coherency between each steps within the addressed workflow: possibility to come back at any step for an actual “workflow feeding” (models updating with dynamic data).
